The 50 best-selling cars: Polo surpasses Corolla, with Dolphin Mini just above

Volkswagen Polo maintains leadership in the Digital Cluster

O Volkswagen Polo continues to lead the ranking of the best selling cars from Brazil. For the second month in a row, the hatch was above the pickup Fiat Strada and thus sold 12,434 units throughout the month of April. According to figures from Fenabrave, an association that brings together dealerships, the pickup truck manufactured in Betim (MG) sold almost 1,000 fewer units in the period, with 11,497 registrations. Who closes the podium, however, is the Chevrolet Onix, which had 9,087 registrations.

Hyundai HB20 and the rise in the ranking

Up to fourth place, in principle, the ranking remains a kind of repeat of March. The fifth position is now occupied by Hyundai HB20, which sold 8,194 units, thus taking the place of Volkswagen T-Cross, which continues as the best-selling SUV on the market, however, fell to seventh place in the ranking.

In between HB20 (fifth) and T-Cross (seventh), in sixth position, O Chevrolet Onix Plus resurfaces. The sedan, in short, emerged in top ten with its 7,049 license plates. In fact, it is worth remembering, the only three-volume in the ranking.

From eighth to tenth position on the list, they appear – as in March -, Chevrolet Tracker (5.670), Fiat Mobi (5,420) and Volkswagen Saveiro (5.373).

The rising automobile market

According to Fenabrave, car and light commercial vehicle registration plates, in April, registered an increase of 18.2% over March. The explanation, however, is given by the greater number of working days (22 in April, compared to 20 in March). According to the entity, this adds to the good performance of retail sales. From March to April, the daily average rose 7.5%, exceeding 9,400 units.

Dolphin Mini surpasses Corolla in sales

Last month, 6,705 100% electric cars and light commercial vehicles were registered. Their best seller, again, was the BYD Dolphin Mini, with 3,143 units, surpassing the established Toyota Corolla (3.104).

Still talking about trams, in the four months (January to April), the total, however, reached 20,832 registrations. “Despite the huge percentages, which is due to the low comparative base, the growth of pure electric vehicles tends to be more gradual, but has been consolidating little by little, especially in large urban centers”, says Andreta Jr., president of Fenabrave.
