Digital Cluster: Ayrton Senna and his Honda NSX
It's hard to talk about Ayrton Senna without imagining the famous photo of the late runner washing a Honda NSX red. The vehicle belonged to the three-time world champion and was originally registered in 1991, in Portugal. Meanwhile, the British car buying and selling website Auto Trader announced that the current owner of the model intends to sell it.
Honda's first foray into supercars
The iconic record of Senna and his red NSX took place in Portugal, and became famous for its appearance in the film “Racing is in my Blood”, by director Jean-Claude Guiter, from 1992. The sports car marked Honda's first foray into supercar territory mid-engine, capable of rivaling the likes of Lamborghini and Ferrari.

Thus, to power the Japanese model, there was a 3.0 naturally aspirated V6 with 283 hp, five-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. The red sports car was Senna's personal model, in addition to two other black NSXs: one personal, kept in Brazil, and the other given to him by businessman Antônio Braga, for example. The red NSX currently has just over 63 thousand kilometers on the clock.
Value and history of Ayrton Senna's NSX
The red model that was in the pilot's Portuguese home is currently owned by Robert McFagan. On the 25th anniversary of Ayrton's death, in 2019, the model appeared on the Imola circuit, driven by Giancarlo Minardi, in front of a crowd that followed the celebration. The amount requested by NSX is 500 thousand pounds, approximately 3.2 million reais in direct conversion.
The model's owner commented: “I first purchased the car in 2013 during a trip to the Algarve in Portugal and have owned it ever since, where it is proudly stored at my property in East Sussex. Senna's red NSX was given to him by Honda with whom he had a commercial partnership and Senna used it frequently, and was photographed with the car during his stays in Portugal”.
