The most iconic SUV is now electric
The most iconic of SUVs in Mercedes-Benz now it is fully electric: this is the long-lasting Class G, which now has a purely electrified version. Featured in Beijing Hall, the new G580 EQ (and not EQG as expected) can now be ordered, and as is common in the G line, it has power and performance numbers far beyond what its appearance suggests.

To move the big guy, four 147 hp electric motors deliver a total of 588 hp, and an impressive torque of 118.6 mkgf. Furthermore, 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, for example. However, the brand claims that the main highlight of the G is off-road, even surpassing the traditional gasoline model. This is due to the fact that each engine has its own two-speed transmission.
Off-road technology and electric autonomy
The device allows the G580 EQ individual controls for situations of maximum need, without the differential locks common to the combustion model. Furthermore, powertrain components and the battery are completely sealed, allowing the SUV to negotiate flooded areas up to 850 mm deep, close to 150 mm deeper than the regular G-Class.
Price and available versions
Finally, the new electric G costs 142,622 euros, which translates into R$ 785 thousand in direct conversion, in the basic version. Other versions, such as the Edition One, gain an AMG Line finish, such as running boards, stainless steel trim, sports steering wheel and 20-inch AMG wheels, rising to 192,524 euros, more than R$ 1 million in direct conversion, for example.
