RAM 1500 RHO: Stellantis' Super Pickup
Fans of super pickup trucks are never left unattended when it comes to American options RAM, from the Stellantis group. Thus, the sports model market gains yet another reinforcement: the RAM 1500 RHO (RAM High Output), which goes beyond being a longer and more powerful Rebel. Furthermore, it also replaces the current TRX, with a V8 engine.
Off-Road Performance
We're talking about a pickup truck really geared towards off-roading, with specific modifications for such conditions. Thus, the RHO is the only pickup in the RAM line to have the Hurricane High Output engine available, a 3.0 Turbo six-in-line with 548 hp and 71.9 mkgf of torque. Furthermore, its 0 to 100 km/h time is 4.6 seconds, and the top speed is 190 km/h.
Capacity and Competitive Price
The towing capacity is 3,801 kg, and the payload is 689 kg. In the USA, its price is US$ 71,990, approximately R$ 362 thousand, in direct conversion. Although much less powerful than the TRX's old 711 hp HEMI 6.2 V8, the pickup delivers the same performance, since its numbers are very similar. Furthermore, it costs less than the TRX, which started at US$ 100 thousand.
Ready for Off-Road
Factory-prepared, the model uses Bilstein's Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shock absorbers, in the same style as the TRX, but with different calibration, as the new engine weighs 70 kg less. In addition, it has reinforcements on the upper and lower arms and on the spring set, as well as 5 cm more height, compared to the other 1500, as well as 20 cm wider.
Design and Comfort
Steel grille, hood, LED headlights and bumpers are exclusive, as are tow hooks, aluminum running boards and skid plates. The 18-inch wheels are wrapped in large 35-inch off-road tires. Inside, there are three screens, namely the dashboard (12.3 inches), the multimedia center (14.5 inches) and another specific one for the passenger (10.25 inches).
