Medium SUVs: Jeep Compass Leads with Comfort and Technology
There's nothing for anyone: among medium SUVs, the Jeep Compass dominates the category and has remained in the lead for the last seven years. Last year alone, almost 60 thousand units were registered, well above the 42 thousand licenses for the Toyota Corolla Cross, in second place. The scenario is repeated in March, with 3,971 registrations for the Compass and 3,326 for the Corolla Cross. The duo remains untouchable at the top, while movements in the rest of the ranking heat up the segment.
Highlight of the Month: Caoa Chery Tiggo 7
Last month, one of the highlights was the Caoa Chery Tiggo 7, which took a surprising third place in the medium SUV category, with 1,745 cars sold, closing the podium. The model gained a more affordable version in February, a strategy that boosted its sales in March.
Hybrids on the Rise
Another highlight are hybrid midsize SUVs, such as the BYD Song Plus, which ranked fourth in the segment with 1,450 units sold. The vehicle surpassed traditional brands on the market and is the best-selling hybrid in Brazil this year. The GWM Haval H6, also a hybrid, came in fifth place with 1,097 units sold, showing the growth of these models in the national market.
The Volkswagen Taos, in sixth place, tries to gain space with promotions and additions to the equipment list. The German brand plans to launch a flex hybrid version of the Taos to compete with Chinese models.
