The best-selling electric vehicle of April
It was the BYD Dolphin Mini, according to preliminary data from the Renavam. The Chinese subcompact registered 3,143 units sold last month, making it the favorite in the segment. The number also records the best sales result for the model since its arrival in February.

This also translates into a new record for the number of sales for an electric model, registering the highest number of registrations for an electric vehicle in Brazil so far.
Comparison with other models
In March, the Dolphin Mini sold 2,400 units, beating its bigger brother Dolphin, who arrived first. The model is sold in Brazil for R$ 115,800, in a well-equipped version, which resulted in the model's good acceptance. In comparison, the Dolphin sold 1,619 units in April, guaranteeing a BYD double among the best-selling electric vehicles.
Comparing the model in a general ranking, including other compacts, the results are also impressive. BYD's subcompact sold more than the Peugeot 208 and Citroën C3 combined, in addition to outperforming combustion models with a long presence on the market, such as Corolla, HB20S, City and Yaris, for example.
Chinese brand sales
Thus, in general terms, Chinese brands did well in April, with emphasis on names such as Caoa Chery Tiggo 7 (3,026), BYD Song Plus (1,699) and GWM Haval H6 (1,609). Finally, globally, BYD reached a new sales record, with 313,245 units in April, 312,048 of which were passenger cars.
