Sponsorship of the Sertanejo Circuit

Official sponsor of the Rock in Rio and The Town music festivals, Volkswagen is now also the official assembler of the Circuito Sertanejo – which runs until November, in six stages. The first of them is ExpoLondrina (in Paraná), which runs until April 14th and became the stage for the so-called “Trio Agro”, made up of the Amarok and Saveiro pickup trucks, and the new Polo Robust, which had pre-sales started one month. Prices for the hatchback are R$ 89,290, or R$ 81,253.90 for rural producers and companies.

Special purchasing conditions

VW's idea is, by sponsoring the Circuito Sertanejo, to become even closer to the consumer public, after all, this type of event serves as a showcase, for exhibition and experimentation of the brand's cars. In addition, Volks will offer special purchasing conditions to customers, such as discounts on consortium and subscriptions, as well as a R$ 1,500 bonus on insurance for any of the “Trio Agro” models. During the fair, for example, the customer can buy the Polo Robust and pay the first installment only after 120 days.

Polo Robust Features

The Polo Robust is based on the entry-level Track version. Therefore, both use a 1.0 three-cylinder aspirated engine with up to 84 hp (with ethanol in the tank) and a five-speed manual transmission. The front-wheel drive model, however, has a raised suspension. The idea is that it is geared towards work, with use in off-road environments, such as potholed floors and dirt floors, for example.

Accessory Kits

The beginner also has two accessory kits, designed to make it more suitable for its proposed use. The Protection Kit includes a front grille protector, vinyl seat covers and rubber carpets. Finally, in the other package (Full Agro Kit), it is possible to have a trailer hitch and a rubber mat for the trunk.

Cost benefit of Polo Robust

Many consumers will complain about the price, after all, the car doesn't even have a multifunctional steering wheel and radio, but it costs more than R$ 80 thousand – which, in fact, would have been unthinkable a few years ago. On the other hand, it is worth noting that, in recent times, laws have forced cars to be more equipped, which has made the final product more expensive. In the hatch, it has front and side airbags, hill start assistant, traction and stability controls, child seat mounting system, ABS brakes with EBD and, as a treat, air conditioning, windows (front) with electric control and steering. electrical.

Robust Polo Performance

During ExpoLondrina, Jornal do Carro managed to take a spin behind the wheel of the Polo Robust. The behavior is the same as the Polo Track, including the engine vibration, which generates a modest 10.3 mkgf of torque, with ethanol in the tank. However, the raised suspension – by 6.5 mm at the front and 10.5 mm at the rear – makes the car braver. It has become more rigid, but it doesn't bother anyone on board. Another good thing is that the elevated assembly prevents the Polo Robust from scraping the front or rear on the ground. The five-speed manual transmission remains precise, with tight engagements and the same typical Volkswagen functionality. And even intended for off-road use, the car behaves very well in the city.
