Mover Program: New Requirements for More Economical and Sustainable Vehicles

The Green Mobility and Innovation Program (Mover) establishes new requirements so that vehicles become more economical and safe and, just as importantly, pollute less. The Brazilian government program will expand the advances already achieved with Inovar Auto (2012) and Rota 2030 (2018). Now, however, the idea is also to stimulate the production of new technologies, such as green hydrogen, for example, a solution already advocated by Hyundai. So much so that the South Korean brand even has a model on display in the country.

Hyundai Presents Nexus at International Renewable Hydrogen Seminar

During the International Seminar on Renewable Hydrogen and Low Carbon, held until Tuesday (9) in Piracicaba, in the interior of São Paulo, Hyundai presents the Nexo. For the first time in Brazil, the hydrogen-powered medium SUV promises a range of 666 km (European WLTP cycle) and even air purification during driving.

The Nexus: Clean Technology and Innovation

The SUV has fuel cell propulsion and an electric motor that together generate 183 hp. The arrival of the Nexo could be an indication of national manufacturing by Hyundai, in order to spread the use of green hydrogen in Brazil, a leading country in global ethanol production. With a wide network of filling stations that offer the sugarcane derivative, Brazil appears to be a suitable place for this technology.

Hyundai's Variety of Hydrogen Vehicles

In addition to passenger cars, Hyundai offers hydrogen solutions for other types of vehicles, including trucks, buses, trams, among others. The brand invests in solutions throughout its value chain, with the aim of being carbon neutral by 2045. Nexo is an example of this innovation, being powered by hydrogen and producing only water as waste.

In order to spread the use of clean hydrogen, Hyundai reinforces its commitment to innovation and sustainability in its vehicles and in its production chain.
