Medium Pickups: Chery enters the race
The market for midsize pickup trucks It has never been so competitive. Before, I had American and Japanese options as favorites, but now even the Chinese want a share of this market. Robust and diverse model
The medium pickup will be built with a focus on robustness, using a body on a long-spar chassis, for example, something already used by names like Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger. Additionally, double cab models will have priority, but simpler, extended and single cab models are on the horizon, and may appear.
Engine Options
However, Chery's future pickup will have combustion, hybrid and electric engines. In the case of the hybrid, the option will be PHEV, that is, a plug-in hybrid, with the possibility of using the powertrain of the Jetour Traveler SUV, for example. This means a 1.5 Turbo gasoline engine, along with an electric motor. Thus, combustion versions can have a 2.0 gasoline engine, with 260 hp.
Finally, the all-electric version will be the most technological, and can incorporate an 800-volt electrical architecture, coming from the Exeed Sterra sedan. This would also include two electric motors, and up to 473 hp of power. Be that as it may, the Chery pickup is expected for 2025, and could rival options from JAC It is BYD, for example.
