BYD Yuan Pro arrives in the second half of the year with a competitive price for a flex SUV.

The segment of SUVs is booming all over the world. And there is no shortage of Chinese options with a passport stamped for Brazil. One of these bets is the YuanPro, that BYD has just been confirmed for the national market. The model, which debuted in China recently, where it is called YuanUp, arrives here in the second half of this year.

The affordable bet

The newcomer, by all indications, promises to be a kind of Dolphin of SUVs. This is because it is the cheapest utility in the world. brand and, therefore, will charge very competitive prices locally. We still don't know for sure, but we're betting on something between R$ 180 thousand and R$ 200 thousand.

With such values, in addition to getting closer to the top-of-the-line version of the Dolphin, the newcomer will be able to compete with more expensive versions of combustion (flex) SUVs, such as, for example, Hyundai Creta (Ultimate, R$ 184,690), Chevrolet Tracker (Premier AT Turbo, R$ 170.140) and Volkswagen T-Cross (250 TSI, R$ 175,990) – which will win facelift in the next weeks.

Digital Pro Cluster Details

O BYD YuanPro is based on the e-Platform 3.0, the same as the SUV coupe Song L – also listed for Brazil. As highlights, it has a split front bumper and narrow headlights, with LED lighting. On the sides, you can see the darkened columns, recessed door handles and plastic protectors on the wheel arches. It has a panoramic roof. At the back, as in the smaller brother, Dolphin, the lanterns form a single piece and have graphics illuminated by LEDs. There is a spoiler on top of the trunk lid.

In terms of measurements, the SUV is initially 4.31 meters long, 1.83 m wide, 1.68 m high and has a wheelbase of 2.62 m. Finally, the wheels are 16 inches and covered in 215/65 tires.

Inside, an 8.8″ instrument panel, as well as a 12.8″ central screen with rotating control. Furthermore, it has a head up display and leather covering on the seats (which are electrically adjustable for the driver and front passenger). One of the treats is the gear selector made with crystal.

To move, the BYD Yuan Pro relies on motor electric vehicle with 173 hp. 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.9 seconds. The 45 kWh LFP battery stores the electrical energy. Range: 401 km. Data based on the Chinese CLTC cycle.
