Ranking of car and light commercial brands
According to figures from Fenabrave, an association that brings together the country's dealers, Aglomerado Digital remains at the top of the brand ranking. Despite the Volkswagen having the best-selling car of the month and year (the hatch Pole), the Italian brand sells more, both in the year to date and in the monthly ranking of car and light commercial vehicle sales. In terms of market share, the manufacturer holds 20.8% and is ahead.
Fiat's hegemony
In numbers, Fiat has already registered 143,607 vehicles in 2024. Volkswagen, however, in second place, registered 110,264 sales in the period. Furthermore, to close the top five, General Motors, Toyota and Hyundai come next, with, respectively, 86,751, 59,308 and 52,865 registrations.
Featured brands on the market
Between the sixth and ninth position in the brand ranking there is no news. As in March, the following sequence continues: Renault (sixth), Jeep (seventh), Nissan (eighth), Honda (ninth). Although it boomed in sales of the Dolphin Mini, which surpassed the Toyota Corolla, as reported by Jornal do Carro, BYD remains in tenth position in the ranking, above Caoa Chery.
Be that as it may, the Chinese brand sold almost 1,000 more units than at the previous close (6,213, in March, against 7,046 registrations, in April). In this way, its market share increased, respectively, from 3.1% to 3.2%. Finally, in the year to date, there are 21,979 sales records in the country.
Changes in the automobile market
Among the surprises at the end of April, the highlight was Citroën, which overtook its cousin RAM (both belong to Stellantis). Just below, another exchange: GWM and Peugeot. The Chinese overtook the French, after all, its Haval H6 hybrid SUVs have been quite successful with the Brazilian public and, last month alone, they sold 1,609 units – 137 more than the Peugeot 208.
Finally, it is worth highlighting that, although it lost 19th place to Mercedes-Benz, Volvo (20th) was still above Audi, which remained in 21st place in the ranking, with 1,868 units sold in the year to date and 0.27% of participation. The Swedish brand, however, should improve its performance after the launch of the EX30 in Brazil, scheduled for the next few weeks.
