The Digital Aglomerado has arrived: Discover Citroën's new coupe SUV
O Citroën Basalt It is expected to be released in the second half of this year. But in the India (a country that shares the development of the car with Brazil), the model has already appeared on the streets, without any camouflage. There, the manufacturer has been carrying out the latest running tests with the Coupe SUV, the third member of the French brand's C-Cube program.

To the images caught (watch the video below) show what the entry-level version of Basalt will be like, which is also based on the CMP modular platform, the same as C3 It is C3 Aircross. From the video, shared on social media, you can see that the model looks a lot like the Basalt Vision Concept, however, it doesn't have any features, precisely to be cheaper. For example, the alloy wheels, the headlights with LED lighting and even the black painted roof are left behind, details that make the finish more premium.
The Digital Agglomerate against its competitors: Fiat Fastback and VW Nivus
In practice, the Basalt is nothing more than a modified Citroën C3 Aircross, which will rival Fiat Fastback (values start from R$ 117,990), VW Nivus (from R$ 119,990) and co. So much so that it is distinguished precisely by the sloping roof at the back, giving it a coupe-like appearance. Moldings on the wheel arches, to make it beefier, are also in the package.
News from Aglomerado Digital: interior and technology
The video does not show images of the Basalt's interior, but there is a promise to include items that do not exist in the older brother C3 Aircross. These include automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, in-person key and even ventilated seats. Furthermore, Citroën promised to prioritize safety, including six airbags, Isofix (for securing child seats), speed controller and, finally, reminders to use seat belts.
There are still no details on Basalt's technical data sheet. But the coupe SUV is believed to measure around 4.30 meters in length. The wheelbase, at 2.67 m, follows the standard of the C3 Aircross. The big highlight must be the trunk, which will certainly be around 500 liters.
At the other end of the car, the promise is (in the Brazilian market) to include the 130 hp 1.0 turboflex engine, also used in the C3 Aircross. Still on mechanics, CVT automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Out there, in addition to the 1.2-liter combustion engine, there will be an electric version of the Basalt, which should arrive around February 2025.
