Audi has announced that the RS4 Avant, RS5 Coupé and RS5 Sportback models will get two new packages, called Competition and Competition Plus.
The Competition package comes a system more open exhaust with dual oval tailpipes, which, combined with less sound insulation between the engine and the cabin, will provide the driver with a more premium sound.
In addition to the quality sound, the Competition option also comes with recalibrated software to manage the operation of the engine and automatic transmission, which now shifts from one gear to another even faster, and the maximum speed limiter has also been recalibrated, so that all three RS models reach 290 km/h.
While in the Competition Plus package, customers can count on an adaptive suspension with adjustable dampers, in which the floor of the car can be 10 millimeters closer to the ground compared to the Competition versions, or 20 millimeters compared to the RS4 standard versions. /RS5.
In addition to the adjustable dampers, there are new springs and even stronger stabilizers.
Audi's famous integral drive, the quattro in this case has been tuned to transfer most of the torque to the rear axle and the combination of differently tuned ABS and carbon-ceramic brakes has resulted in a two meter shorter stopping distance. when braking from 100 km/h compared to standard versions.
Regardless of the package selected, all three models are powered by a 2.9-liter V6 biturbo engine that develops 450 horsepower and 600 Nm of maximum torque.
With less weight and other mentioned improvements, the RS4 Avant hits 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds (0.2 seconds faster than standard), and the RS5 Coupé and RS5 Sportback in 3.8 seconds (0.1 seconds faster than standard versions).
The Competition and Competition Plus packages will be available to customers in Europe from the middle of next year.
For the Competition package, an additional 7,786 euros must be added to the base price of the car, and for the Competition Plus, 11,875 euros.
