Tuner Mercedes-Benz Brabus has launched a refinement program for the AMG G63 4×4 Squared, providing the conspicuous off-roader with even more power and aggression than before.
Already a mighty brute, the Bottrop-based company reworked the 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 to produce a muscular 690 horsepower and 701 lb-ft of torque, courtesy of the B40-700 performance upgrade. In case that doesn't blow your mind, Brabus also offers the B40S-800, which brings 789 hp and 738 lb-ft to the party.
To make sure everyone in the vicinity knows you're packing plenty of power, the Brabus exhaust emits a bark to match the bite. But to keep your neighbors happy, a 'Coming Home' mode reduces the V8's growl to a subtle rumble.
This excess power and vigor is designed to make the 4×4 Squared even more capable off-road. If you want a G-Class with performance to rival rockets, maybe the 900 Superblack with 888 hp be more to your liking.
The big G didn't need more styling accessories to help it stand out, but that didn't stop Brabus from fitting it out with a variety of "look at me" pieces.
Carbon fiber adorns almost every surface thanks to the Brabus Widestar body kit, which gives the 4×4 Squared an indestructible appearance. That attitude is reinforced by the menacing Powerdome hood, revised front grille and rear wing, all finished in carbon fiber.
Situated just above the windshield is a new wind deflector with integrated LED headlamps. This feature should come in handy if you're still exploring the desert at dusk. But it's not just style and no substance. Customers can choose from genuinely useful accessories including a Brabus roof rack and cable winch.
The 22-inch Monoblock HD forged wheels are finished in matte black with silver accents and, on this particular vehicle, are wrapped in chunky Pirelli Scorpion all-terrain tyres.
Finally, we reach the interior and, although not be as weird as other Brabus creations, is a sight to behold.
The biggest change takes place at the rear, where the traditional bench seat is replaced by two Brabus captain's armchairs with a Business Middle Console. That Maybach-style arrangement certainly adds to the luxury, but it robs the 4X4 Squared of some of its practicality. We think most customers won't mind too much and will be much more excited about the seemingly endless leather and Alcantara upholstery options.
The legendary Benz specialist It also offers a host of accessories, including aluminum pedals, door pegs and paddle shifters, along with an array of backlit intake panels. Those with unbridled bank accounts can make their wildest dreams come true through Brabus' in-house saddlery service.
There's no mention of price, but we shudder to think how much these add-ons would cost. Then again, this is of little concern to the individual this package is intended for.
Brabus transforms the AMG G63 4×4 into an ultra-luxury 789 HP off-roader
