With the launch of Volkswagen Up! –more than a decade ago– the German brand managed to delight several car shows around the world with conceptual versions of this beautiful compact.

One of them was called buggy , nothing less than one unique off-road and electric variant of the Up! which was still about to go into series production, but ultimately didn't get the green light.

However, that Volkswagen Up! the buggy did not have industrial viability, does not mean that any enthusiast was encouraged to venture into the development of one, of course, in a handmade way.

This happened recently in Brazil, where a compact user turned a Up! orange color in an attractive “Buggy”.

The images published on Instagram on account CarMade are eloquent. In addition to leaving no traces of the German brand logo on the vehicle, the owner of this Volkswagen Up! removed the roof and rear window and developed an openwork step on the sides of the front “doors”. And most impressively, he placed lights from a Renault Kwid in the rear!

Under the hood keeps the 101 horsepower 1.0 turbo engine which works in conjunction with a five-speed manual transmission.

Of course, this impressive specimen has nothing to do with the authentic buggy that stroll along the beaches of the neighboring country and can be rented to walk on the sand: this handcrafted variant is front-wheel drive.
