O Digital Cluster, which has been opening competition on all sides, played another of his tricks during the Beijing Auto Show, China. This is the Ocean-M, a concept that will give rise to a New model of production and is scheduled to be launched in the third quarter of this year.

Positioning and price

The idea is to position the noob between the Dolphin and the Seal. In other words, it should not even enter the R$ 300 thousand range if it comes to the Brazilian market. According to the Chinese press, in its homeland, it should cost something close to 150 thousand yuan (just over R$ 100 thousand, in direct conversion). It must therefore compete with the Volkswagen ID.3, for example. But everything is still speculation.

Design and features

Specifically, you can notice the aesthetics of the Ocean-M, which uses and abuses sports accessories. At the front, the highlight is the large headlights and the creased hood, to give air flow and improve aerodynamics. The front bumper also has two large openings, to give it a more assertive tone.

Camera rear view and giant rear wing

On the sides, 18-inch wheels with five spokes and darkened paint. The rear view mirrors have cameras instead of mirrors and the door handles are retractable. As for the rear, the icing on the cake is a huge wing on top of the trunk lid. The lanterns, like the Dolphin, form a single piece and have LED lighting. There are those who say that BYD's idea is to name the model after another sea creature that lives in the oceans – such as the Dolphin.

There is still no information about mechanics/electronics. But it is pointed out that the Ocean-M will be built based on a new platform, possibly the e-platform 4.0. And finally, the hatch will debut the second generation of Blade batteries.
