The new generation of Peugeot 2008

There is still no official information about the engine that will be used in the new model, but it is expected to be the 1.0 turbo (T200), present in other vehicles such as the 208, Fastback and similar, generating 130 hp and 20.4 mkgf of torque in conjunction with a CVT transmission simulating seven gears. With the old 2008 being discontinued, the Porto Real (RJ) factory will exclusively produce the Citroën, which will soon welcome the arrival of the Basalt SUV-coupe.

The monumental investment

Of the total R$ 32 billion disclosed, R$ 30 billion will be allocated to Brazil, with R$ 13 billion directed to the Goiana (PE) factory. Stellantis aims to expand its industrial park, supply chain and local production of components for hybrid and electric cars.

In Argentine

The remaining R$ 2 billion of global investment will be invested in Argentina for the production of new Peugeot 2008. The president of Stellantis for South America, Emanuele Cappellano, promises to consolidate leadership and expand business in the region with the launch of new products and investments in all of the company's Automotive Hubs.
