Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 says goodbye in style and high power of 1,039 hp

The Dodge Challenger is leaving the market forever, giving way to an electric model, but not before leaving an unforgettable memory of what its combustion model was capable of

The latest “Last Call” edition of the American brand for the sports car is incredible and stands out even more than the other editions.

To illustrate, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is the most powerful production muscle car in history and is the first Dodge model to be able to complete the quarter mile in 8 seconds.

The Demon retains many of the features that made it famous, but with significant improvements, particularly in its engine.

The 6.2 V8 engine has been improved and reinforced in every possible way so that it is capable of handling all your cavalry.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 has an eight-speed automatic transmission and a rear axle, aided by systems such as Launch Control, Launch Assist, Line Lock, Torque Reserve and radial tires designed for maximum performance in acceleration races.

With E85 ethanol, the engine delivers 1,039 horsepower and 1,280 Nm, while with standard fuel, it still impresses with 913 hp and 1,097 Nm.

The model's performance is impressive, with an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 1.66 seconds and a time of 8.91 seconds to cover a quarter mile at a top speed of 155 mph.

Compared to the original Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, which had an 840bhp engine and 1,044Nm of torque, and took 2.3 seconds to reach 0-96mph and 9.65 seconds to complete a quarter mile, it is clear that there was a huge improvement in the performance of the car.

In addition, Dodge worked on reducing the weight of the car, using forged aluminum wheels 18 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear and eliminating the passenger seat, rear seats and soundproofing.

The result is a Spartan cabin as standard, but with upgrade options such as leather upholstery, ventilated and heated seats, a steering wheel with the same characteristics and a Harman Kardon sound system with 18 speakers.

Pre-orders for the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 will open on March 27th and the starting price will be US$ 96,666.

However, only 3,300 units will be produced, 3,000 for the United States and 300 for Canada.
