Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo: Futuristic and powerful single-seater prototype inspired by the famous video game

Ferrari has officially unveiled the extravagant Vision Gran Turismo, a four-wheel-drive hybrid single-seater with a menacing, futuristic design, but it's practically a pure exercise in style from the house of Maranello.

This is the first prototype reserved exclusively for the extremely popular game Gran Turismo and it also represents the last chapter of the celebrations of its 75th anniversary, a number that also stands out on the hood and sides.

Specifications of the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo

Even though it's just a virtual car, Ferrari has given it almost the same attention and importance as a real car.

The vehicle's design was created by Ferrari Centro Stile under the direction of Flavio Manzoni. It is inspired by the legendary sports prototypes of the 1960s and 1970s, which enjoyed tremendous success in the 24-hour races of Le Mans and Daytona.

The model has futuristic features and aerodynamics, but also features contemporary solutions such as the air diffusers integrated into the wheel arches and the two impressive lateral channels, patented by Ferrari.

The Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo is powered by the new 3-liter turbocharged 120-degree V6 used in the 296 GTB, 296 GTS, 296 GT3 and the new 499P.

However, unlike the 296 GTB, the engine has been modified to deliver monstrous performance, delivering 1,030 hp (1,016 hp) at 9,000 rpm.

In addition, 322 hp are provided by three electric motors, one for the rear axle and two for the front wheels.

The model's chassis is designed to emphasize lateral dynamics in the most stressful conditions, while the bodywork appears to rise above a carbon fiber base, resulting in a dry weight of 1,250 kg.

Ferrari has worked with Gran Turismo to ensure that the excellent engine sound is accurately reproduced.

The suspension has been designed to provide perfect contact with the virtual road surface and optimal traction to transmit the massive 1,100Nm of torque delivered by the combustion engine and MGU-K electric motor to the rear axle.

Furthermore, the car features F1-inspired hybrid technology that has made vehicles like the 296 GTB and SF90 Stradale extremely efficient.

Ferrari's virtual supercar accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 2 seconds and reaches over 350 km/h (217 mph).

In addition, he covered the Fiorano circuit in a record time of just 1m10s.

The hybrid technology of the Vision Gran Turismo would have Formula 1 efficiency and its sound would have been reproduced as faithfully as possible thanks to the collaboration between the game's programmers and the Maranello engineers.

The Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo will be unveiled on November 27th during the Gran Turismo World Finals in Monte Carlo and will be available to all Gran Turismo 7 users from December 23rd.

A full-size model will be presented on December 15th at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello and will be displayed alongside the current exhibition of unique models until March 2023.
