New 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel is revealed with impressive off-road and towing capability

Ram Trucks is offering a new off-road option for its heavy-duty truck range.

The Stellantis-owned brand presented the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel at the Texas State Fair in Dallas.

The Rebel, has a trim level currently available on the Ram 1500, sitting between the Laramie and Power Wagon, as well as offering a turbo diesel option.

Ram Trucks CEO Mike Koval Jr said the heavy-duty Rebel, which will make use of the Power Wagon frame, will offer a combination of off-road performance without having to sacrifice capability.

“The new heavy-duty Rebel will feature Mopar’s special badge and sports hood, off-road suspension, rear limited-slip differential and electronic rear lock, 20-inch wheels (18-inch wheels will be optional), 33-inch wheels-tires and protective plates to protect the fuel tank and transfer case,” said Mike Koval Jr.

More specs of the new Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel

The Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel will come with either a standard 6.4-liter Hemi V8 or an optional 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel.

The gasoline version promises 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, while the diesel version should manage 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque.

The model is rated for 16,870 pounds of towing and a payload of 3,140 pounds.

A factory-installed 12,000 lb capacity winch is available on versions equipped with the V8.

The truck offers three different seating options, including a fabric seat or bucket seat, a Bristol leather seat or bucket seat, and a full Natura Plus leather bucket seat.

There's also a 360-degree surround view camera, including front view camera grid lines to help navigate obstacles.

Available safety features include adaptive cruise control, full speed forward collision alert, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring and cross path detection, automatic headlights, digital rear view mirror with trailer mode and windshield wipers. breeze sensitive to rain.

The Ram Heavy Duty Rebel 2023 will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year, priced at US$ 67,045, not including the destination fee of US$ 1,895.
