New Chevrolet S10 2025 and Trailblazer shake up the pickup truck and SUV market
The pickup truck market in Brazil is super hot, and after years, Chevrolet has finally updated the S10. O Car Newspaper went to the model's pre-launch at ExpoLondrina, in Paraná, to see up close two of the three versions of the new midsize pickup line, which is made in São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo. In fact, the look of the new Chevrolet S10 2025 anticipates the renewal of the Trailblazer, which is also very close to its premiere.
News from the automobile market
GM's large 7-seater SUV has yet to appear, but is scheduled to launch in May. In other words, right after the new S10 arrives in stores, which will happen at the end of April. For now, only the pickup was shown during ExpoLondrina (PR).
New Chevrolet Trailblazer will have the look and mechanics of the S10
At the Agro fair, we met the S10 2025 in the High Country (R$ 302,900) and Z71 (R$ 281,900) versions, with a sportier look. Both use the Duramax 2.8 turbodiesel engine, which generates 207 hp and a maximum torque of 52 mkgf. With improvements in the electronics, the engine develops better numbers than in the previous version of the S10. Therefore, the pickup is 13% more economical, as well as quieter (read less noisy).
In addition to the mechanical developments, the new 7-seater Chevrolet Trailblazer will have the same look as the pickup truck, except at the rear, as it is an SUV. Likewise, the interior will maintain the evolutions made in the pickup, with emphasis on the new panel that features two Full HD screens at the top, as already seen in the new Spin. The instrument panel has an 8-inch display and the 11″ MyLink multimedia, with native Wi-Fi and wireless mirroring.
Technology and comfort in the Trailblazer
In this first contact, we were able to quickly experience the S10 Z71 on an off-road track at the brand's stand inside Expolondrina. There, the pickup faced steep climbs and descents, making use of the uphill and downhill assistance system, which holds the brakes well. Another highlight was the low engine noise, achieved with the new acoustic insulation.
However, it was not possible to assess the performance and economy of the new S10 in this quick off-road exercise. What can be said is that the Z71 model, with appliqués and even red seat belts, mixed-use tires (High Country/LTZ use urban tires) and darkened details, is faithful to the proposal for a younger and “out-of-town” audience. off-road”.
Performance and customization
The presentation of the new Chevrolet S10 2025 will take place between the end of April and the beginning of May, when the other versions will be detailed – LTZ (R$ 292.900) and WT (acronym for Work Truck), which will be the new entry-level version of the pickup. Finally, the S10 will also have a version with a single cabin, according to the image published by J.C.. However, in the case of the Trailblazer, GM must offer the 7-seater SUV only in more complete versions.
