Porsche 911 Carrera Panamericana Special: A tribute to the iconic 1952 356 Super Cabriolet

Carrera Panamericana is undoubtedly one of the most important events for Porsche in its history, as, among other things, it has given the brand iconic names such as “career” or “Panamera” and which marked the beginning of the manufacturer's history in motorsport.

To honor this popular race, Porsche Manufaktur under Porsche Latin America and Porsche Mexico created a special edition called the Porsche 911 Carrera Panamericana Special.

This special edition is inspired by the 356 Super Cabriolet that crossed the finish line in 1952, claiming victory in the category of motor vehicles up to 1,500 cubic centimeters.

Based on the 911 Carrera S generation 992, the new special edition sports a metallic gentian blue colorway, two vinyls with the number 11 on each side of the model, a white engine grille and darkened rear brake lights to give the impression of being an 11. .

In the side view, its main protagonists are the 20-inch Turbo design wheels at the front and 21-inch at the rear, hand-painted in the same color as the body and with a gray central part, behind which are the black enameled brake calipers. .

Throughout this new special edition, we find numerous details that refer to the 356, such as a vinyl on the top of the moon, the Carrera Panamericana shield projected on the floor and the emblem of the National Automobile Association.

Exclusive details inside the car

Inside, the 911 Carrera Panamericana Special features 18-way adjustable Crayon Gray Sport Plus seats, with piping and the iconic Panamericana helmet logo embroidered on the headrests.

Its steering wheel and dashboard feature a Slate Gray color with small details in Crayon Gray.

Special details are also found in its cabin, where we find the inscription “911 Carrera S – La Carrera Panamericana 1952” on the dashboard, rev counter and the central clock with the outer rings in white and the car key in metallic blue gentian.

The sale of the special model will be carried out through an auction next year and part of the money raised will go to a social charity foundation.
