Auction house RM Sotheby's will sell a rare BMW Z8 at auction set for January 23rd.
This is the Z8 model produced in just 5,702 copies between 1999 and 2003, and the example shown in the photos above left the production line in 2002.
The BMW Z8 features a fantastic retro design that has been praised, owned and regularly driven by legendary Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
The car that will be auctioned is painted in Jet Black, while the interior is covered in Crema leather. This is one of 229 examples that left the factory with these specifications.
As the photos show, the car is in almost perfect condition. It has driven less than 12,000 kilometers and has only had two owners so far.
The vehicle is equipped with a set of 20-inch Alpina Dynamic D01 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires, plus an original set of rims, as well as a black hardtop with support.
The BMW Z8 is powered by a 4.9 liter V8 engine that develops 395 hp and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The current owner is selling the car at no reserve price, and examples of this model in mint condition have been known to fetch over $ 500,000 in the past.
