Created in 1984, nearly four decades ago, the Toyota MR2 underwent only three major revisions before its premature termination in 2007.
Even so, the model still has a small mid-engined RWD cult following to this day, both in the real world and in the virtual world.
The rendering of the Toyota MR2
There's a new restomod kit idea wandering the digital realm, courtesy of UK-based 3D automotive concept artist, better known as AVANTÉ DESIGN, aka forward.design_ on social networks) who decided to create a new MR2 restomod kit retro-futuristic with a touch of cyberpunk.
And the rendering inspiration came directly from the original 1984-1989 Toyota MR2.
Unfortunately, anyone wanting to duplicate this in the real world may need to purchase a second generation W20 (1989-1999) unit for the aftermarket renaissance build project.
Also, it looks like a good set of dark bronze Kansei Roku alloy wheels might also be needed to get the job done really well.
As for the general atmosphere, reception was mostly positive, although some scattered opinions ranged from comparing the model to the Hyundai N Vision 74 fuel cell hybrid concept.
